It’s not quite time to put the motorcycles away for the winter, but we’ve been doing a lot of chores. The strawberries have straw ready to cover them for the winter, the garden is roto-tilled and we’ve taken all the screen doors and windows down. Even though the weather is nice and warm this week, the patio furniture is stacked up in the shed, and we are burning wood on the these cold nights. I rode up to my old haunting grounds in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont last week and it was almost “stick season” up there.
The Apple notebook event has been confirmed for October 14th by invitations that have gone out to the press, and speculation is mounting as to what Apple might reveal. We will bring you all the details next week in Tech Tails and Kibbles & Bytes. The rumor sites are all abuzz with speculation and out-of-focus supposed spy shots. It is amazing that Apple can generate this much buzz over a product introduction. Can you name any other computer company that has this much anticipation or press coverage?

Everyone is giving me condolence calls and emails about the Cubs—yet again—choking in the playoffs. That’s two straight years in a row that they have been eliminated in the first round. As a long-time Cubs fan, I am used to that disappointment; however, I have some faith in my team as they were by no means a bottom-dweller and just “wait until next year!”
