Shipment Method Details

Our primary shipping carriers are UPS and US Mail.

Our standard method of shipping within the contiguous US is UPS Ground or US Priority Mail. These services range from 1 to 5 days shipping, excluding the day of shipping, depending on distance from our location in Vermont. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii are via UPS or US Mail. International shipments are shipped via UPS International Express or US International Priority Mail. Please note that standard orders are processed within 1-2 business days. Rush orders placed prior to 3PM EST will ship the same day excluding weekends and holidays. Rush orders placed after 3PM EST will ship the following business day. Order processing includes credit card verification procedures and inventory allocation.

Orders over $400 or 5 lbs will default to UPS Ground shipping.

For items weighing over 100 lbs or designated as "oversized," shipping costs will be calculated by our sales associates, who will contact you for your approval before processing your order.

Note: All shipping is measured in business days (weekdays) and does not include weekends or holidays.

Faster shipping is available with UPS 3 day select, UPS two-day, UPS next-day. Orders must be placed for in-stock items before 3:00PM Eastern. We also have shipping available via Federal Express and bulk carriers for very large orders. You are charged ACTUAL UPS and US Mail freight charges; we do not add any "handling" surcharges and charge you only our discounted freight rates.

Shipping Rules & Exceptions

Alternate Addresses

In order to provide our customers with the utmost security when placing an order, we require that you use addresses, phone number and email that are verified by your credit card company. To prevent a delay or cancellation of your order due to an unverified address, call your credit card company and add the address beforehand for verification.

If you need to make an address correction after your order has been placed or shipped, you must contact us directly at 802-862-1316 x600 or Any correction may be subject to a fee of $10.

Incomplete Orders

Small Dog does not normally ship incomplete orders from our warehouse, so if one or more of the products on your order is not in stock we will usually hold the entire order until we are able to ship everything together. The only exception to this is if part of the order is available from our distributor. In those cases, the distributor will ship the item separately. In all other cases, if you would prefer to separate your order into two or more parts, please call us. Some orders are drop-shipped directly from one or more of our suppliers. In that case, we do not have easy access to tracking information, so please contact us if you feel your shipment is overdue.

Drop Shipments

Some orders from Small Dog are drop shipped directly from one or more of our suppliers. Shipping methods from these suppliers include UPS and FedEx. If you would like tracking information or you feel that your shipment is overdue, please contact us at

International Shipments

We are unable to ship Apple products (which include, but are not limited to, Macs, iPods, and Apple software), system upgrades, parts or similar items internationally. This restriction applies to all New, Refurbished, Discontinued, Open Box, Demo and Used hardware.

Any shipments to Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, and Syria are subject to UPS Tier IV shipping rates.

Note: Credit card verification takes longer with international orders, and this may cause a delay in shipping (48-72 hours). We also may require additional identification verification for international orders. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The following rules apply to approved international orders:

  • All Duties and Taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
  • These charges will be collected at delivery; refusal of the package does not limit liability of these charges (please contact your local customs office to get an estimate of these charges).

Most of our products do have a manufacturer's warranty, the vast majority of which is not valid outside of the United States. We are glad to facilitate US warranty service for international customers, but all shipping charges both to and from Small Dog Electronics remain the responsibility of the customer.

Signature Information

Small Dog Electronics will send your high value package with an adult signature required for delivery. Should you choose to waive the signature required services, neither Small Dog Electronics nor the delivering carrier is responsible for damages to and/or theft of the parcel(s).
